Who We Are
Sint Maarten is one of the world's most unusual places — a single 87 km² island shared by two sovereign nations, with no border fence and no visa requirement between them. Half Dutch, half French, entirely Caribbean. Rumhuys was born from that duality.
We are a rum blending house, not a distillery. We take 100% pure sugarcane juice rum — crafted using the oldest and most traditional methods in the Caribbean — and transform it into something that tells the story of this island. Each blend is a chapter: the salt ponds, the old sugar mills, the pirates, the border that isn't really a border.
Our philosophy is simple: use the best base spirit, add only what nature provides, and let the island speak for itself. No artificial flavours. No added sugar. No shortcuts.
Every flavour in every bottle comes from real spices, real fruits, and real Caribbean ingredients. Nothing synthetic, nothing artificial.
Every blend references something real about Sint Maarten — its history, its geography, its people. This is island rum, not global rum.
Rumhuys is operated by We Tour B.V., Sint Maarten's only GSTC-certified sustainable tourism operator. Sustainability is not a marketing claim — it's how we operate.
