The Collection
Each rum is crafted from 100% pure sugarcane juice, slowly fermented and distilled using traditional Caribbean methods. We add only natural spices and fruit extracts — no artificial flavours, no added sugar.
Tropical fruits & coconut. Light, playful, endlessly refreshing.
Clean, crisp and mineral. Named for Sint Maarten's legendary salt ponds.
Rich chocolate and roasted hazelnut — the taste of the old Caribbean sugar mill.
French finesse meets Dutch boldness. A spiced blend that crosses the line.
Classic Caribbean spices. Bold, adventurous, uncompromising.
How Our Rum Is Made
Sugarcane is harvested by hand from volcanic plantation land, selected for its aromatic richness. It reaches the mill within 24 hours of cutting to preserve the natural sweetness and freshness of the juice.
The cane is crushed using a traditional steam-powered mill. The fibrous waste — bagasse — fuels the steam boiler itself, creating a closed energy loop that has powered Caribbean rum-making for centuries.
The fresh cane juice ferments for 48 to 72 hours — nearly twice the industry average. This slow natural process allows the full aromatic complexity of the cane to develop: fruity esters, floral notes, mineral depth.
Distillation takes place in traditional copper column stills. Copper actively improves the spirit, binding unwanted compounds and allowing the aromatic molecules to express themselves. The result exits at 74–80% alcohol, already rich with character.
After distillation, the spirit rests in tanks for several months before being slowly reduced with pure natural water to its final bottling strength. Time and patience — no shortcuts.
At Rumhuys, we blend each variety with natural Caribbean spices and fruit extracts to create our five house characters. Every bottle is sealed, labelled and ready to travel.
